Kitchener, ON – June 21, 2013 – Miovision, a leading innovator and provider of intelligent traffic data management solutions, was presented with the Outstanding Project Management Award at the TECTERRA Geomatics Showcase on June 18, 2013.

Hosted in Calgary, Alberta the event showcases Canadian geomatics companies and their products. This award recognizes the progress achieved for Miovision’s most recent solution, Spectrum.

Spectrum is Miovision’s Adaptive Signal Control product which coordinates all traffic signals in a traffic network based on real-time demand.  Using the power of cloud computing, video detection, and wireless communication, Spectrum optimizes traffic signals which reduces delay and delivers the best possible driving experience.

“Traffic should control the intersections and not the other way around. With Spectrum, cities can now implement an effective solution to improve their intersections within the transportation network based on real-time traffic conditions,” says Kurtis McBride, CEO of Miovision.

TECTERRA Inc. is a national organization supporting the Canadian development and commercialization of geomatics technologies for integrated resource management. With current funding from the Province of Alberta and the Government of Canada, TECTERRA invests in technology solutions for energy, forestry, agriculture, environment, and land management and development applications.
