November 9, 2012 – Kitchener, ON – Today, Miovision’s staff of 82 celebrated their hard work, commitment and recent achievements with a group shopping trip to Best Buy. In a surprise employee appreciation event, the entire staff was loaded onto buses, given matching celebratory t-shirts, and transported to Best Buy, where they were given gift cards to spend during an exclusive two-hour shopping experience.
As a rising technology star in Waterloo region, Miovision has much to celebrate, including several recent award wins, new investment partners, and new ground-breaking products on the way in 2013. In looking for ways to recognize its staff’s dedication and contributions, the company went with the same approach it takes with its technology – being bold and innovative.
“A company’s success is measured by its people; Miovision wouldn’t be where it is today without our incredibly talented and dedicated staff,” says Kurtis McBride, CEO and Co-Founder of Miovision. “We wanted an employee appreciation event that would show the gratitude and pride the founders feel for the team at Miovision, and how everyone here inspires greatness throughout all levels and aspects of our company. So this is a big event for a big thank you!”
Miovision employees were more than happy to join in the celebration, and express their enthusiasm in turn:

“This is a perfect reflection of the company’s values. The team has been working extremely hard, and it feels good to be rewarded like this. In this economic climate, most companies wouldn’t be this generous. But then, most companies aren’t Miovision.” – Richard Stuart, Senior Financial Analyst
However, it was the employees’ smiles that said it all. And for Miovision’s founders, that’s what mattered most.
